You've Changed 32% in 10 Years

Ah, the past! You may not remember it well - because you're still living in it.

While you've changed some, you may want to update your wardrobe, music collection and circle of friends.

That's Entertainment!

My son has been jonesing to The Backyardigans: Tale of the Mighty Knights for the past couple of weeks. His favorite is this song:

My husband and I have been watching John Adams on HBO. I haven't read David McCullough's book, but the series is very good. Paul Giamatti just melts into the role of John Adams.

And I'm hoping my mother-in-law can stomach season 1 of The Tudors. We attempted to watch Rome last summer; the volume of naked body parts startled her. My fingers are crossed.

Working the TBR

I was surprised by how much I really enjoyed this book. The internet buzz intrigued me, naturally, but it's often difficult to tell if word-of-mouth praise is truly warranted. In the case of Wicked Lovely, it is. (And it's nominated for a 2008 RITA.)

I'm finally catching up on this series! Woot!! Broken turns the pov back to Elena Michaels, the character introduced in the first book of the Women of the Otherworld series. Bitten -- Book 1 -- is an absolutely favorite of mine so I was happy to revisit her once again.

Wild Frontier by Sienna Black

Lucas Trumble is the sheriff of Fairtrade, Montana, a town that's seen more than its fair share of trouble recently. The rumor on the streets is that it can all be blamed on Louisa Dupré, the woman who lives on the outskirts of town. But Luke's convinced that the accusations of witchcraft leveled against the woman he loves are misunderstandings and nothing more.

The truth lies somewhere in between. Louisa has been trained to heal using herbs and old remedies. She's also learned a thing or two about impossible creatures, like werewolves. And sheriffs.

When their mutual friend, Caleb Hawkins, comes to her after having been bitten by a wolf, she's determined to do all she can to make his coming change easy. Taking Caleb into her bed isn't part of the plan.

Learning to share his woman with his best friend, a man in the throes of an impossible circumstance, isn't something Lucas ever imagined he'd have to do. But the wild frontier gets wilder when there's a full moon.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Male/male sexual interaction, ménage (m/f/m).

Now available at Loose Id. Congratulations, Sienna!!!

Working the TBR

A regular Wednesday feature! *lol*

The overall story arc just gets better and better. While Unleashing the Storm isn't a direct sequel to Riding the Storm, it's nice to see the entire ACRO crew get some screen time. I cannot wait for the third book!

The final book in Ms. Bray's trilogy. I am so very sad to see it end, but what a way to go! (Gem-ma. Gah!!) I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Of course, now I want to re-read the entire trilogy, the hallmark of good books, in my opinion. Someone buy the rights and make a movie!! If you're a fangirl of Twilight, you will absolutely LOVE this series. Gemma Doyle is the 19th century version of Bella Swan (without the whine and in a corset). Okay, maybe Gemma is Bella's total opposite but still -- Read. These. Books.

The pile is overflowing. I wish I could say I won't buy any more until the stacks are gone, but books are an addiction I don't wish to be cured of. Here's what I've recently finished:

Typical!

As fate would have it, my three-year-old decided he couldn't play by himself this weekend. This usually happens when I have projects I simply must work on.

Reminding him about Cars, Thomas or The Backyardigans didn't have the long-lasting effect I'd hoped. And those vanishing nap hours, well, I don't want to talk about them.

He's also at the stage where he's interested in computers. Computers are the main appeal at school. I work from my laptop, so when he wants to play a Diego or Max and Ruby game on Nick Jr.'s site, he's got a pretty comfy situation -- he sits backwards in the chair (his butt on the edge of the seat, his legs in Indian style underneath the lap desk). And because I know what a great time he has playing games, I feel bad not letting him have at least a few minutes of computer time.

Plus, he's cute so it's difficult to say "No!" all the damn time.

Eye Candy by Amanda Young

Love is a fool's game Jake Remora has no intention of ever playing again. He works hard, plays even harder, and leaves a string of easy lovers in his wake. Having his first lover move home and resurrect long-dormant emotions is the last thing he ever expected...or wanted.

Just as things reignite between the lovers, a new scandal of sexual impropriety arises. Past and present collide in a clash of rumor and speculation, jeopardizing any hope of a shared future the two men might hope to build.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, dubious consent, male/male sexual practices.

Eye Candy is related to Man Candy
