The Book Geek Says...

Thanks to SAVE THE CONTEMPORARY, hosted by Jane of Dear Author and Sarah of Smart Bitches Trashy Books, I won a copy of Lisa Kleypas' Smooth Talking Stranger.

I've never read anything by Kleypas, so after I recovered my shock from winning, I anxiously awaited my prize. Needless to say, once I started Smooth Talking Stranger, I couldn't put it down. I didn't feel left out or lost in the Travis family dynamic, possibly because the book was from the POV of an outsider, Ella Varner.

I liked the fact that the heroines of this series are unconventional or in unusual circumstances. They also have pretty firm heads on their shoulders but they make mistakes and own up to them. They learn, they grow, they're real. I hope Ms. Kleypas writes a fourth book -- we've got to know who Joe hooks up with, right?

Thank you again to Jane, Sarah and St. Martin's -- and Ms. Kleypas for such an entertaining series.
